Directly next to the airport is a side street with street parking which dead-ends into the Lyon Air Museum. The nearest intersection is Ike Jones Road at Airway Avenue, located off Baker Street near Red Hill Avenue. Located directly adjacent to the airport, clear view of parked private airplanes as well as the active runway where airplanes are taking off. Furthermore, the Lyon Air Museum offers an additional educational resource for visitors.

 

According to their brochure (picked up in March of 2023, ©2022), the Lyon Air Museum (link: https://lyonairmuseum.org/) is an “exhibit comprised of authentic aircraft, rare vehicles and related memorabilia with emphasis on the defining even of the 20th century – World War II. Through captivating and though provoking exhibits based in historical scholarship, visitors gain a better understanding of the important role the United States played in shaping world history.” As this is written, the hours of the museum are 10am to 4pm daily except Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and for Special Events per their brochure. In addition, there is a modest display of items for purchase, which primarily consisted of model airplanes of various airlines.

Cons:

  • No public restrooms, albeit there are restrooms are located within the museum
  • No outdoor seating available
  • No restaurants and limited water (there may be water fountains located within the museum)
